Focus diets on calories and portions, dietitian says

Many people are focused on eating healthy foods but do not realize the biggest issues are calories and portion control, says registered dietitian Stefanie Senior. She recommends that people track their food intake and measure out ingredients, such as cooking oils, to limit calories. Aids such as the Healthy Steps portion control pasta basket and Slimware, plates sectioned into portion sizes, can help people eat the right amount, she says.
