Incentives help maintain strong booking numbers

Hoteliers can boost room sales through room discounts or freebie programs that entice value-conscious travelers, several hotel leaders say. Preferred Hotel Group offers incentive programs of "Stay 2 Nights, Get 3 Nights" and the like. "For consumers, they are simple, easy ways for them to get more value for their money through the free nights. For hotels, it allows them to increase the length of stay," said Casey Ueberroth, Preferred Hotel Group's senior vice president of marketing.
