Qualcomm was the leading supplier of multi-core application processors for smartphones, with a 43% market share, during the first six months of this year, according to Strategy Analytics. Also at Qualcomm, the chipmaker reassured developers this week that it remained committed to CDMA technology. At the same conference, CEO Paul Jacobs said small cells will fill a huge need for carriers as they keep up with ever-greater demand for data services. Jacobs was explaining the importance of Qualcomm's partnership with Alcatel-Lucent.
