Wis. apprenticeship program matches student interest to local employers

Youth Apprenticeship, a partnership among businesses, high schools and Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, Wis., is providing students valuable work experience, while also providing employers opportunities to groom future workers. CTech Manufacturing, a maker of cabinets and storage units, worked with an apprentice from Wausau West High School last year and now has agreed to pay his college tuition in exchange for the student's commitment to work for the company after graduation.
