Hotel building on an upswing in Providence

Providence, R.I., has become a hub of hotel-building activity, with five major projects announced or recently opened, including the 80-room Hotel Providence, which opened this year, and the 31-story, 200-room tower added to a Westin hotel. The availability of financing for the new hotels and a strong demand for hotel rooms are among the key the driving factors for the activity.
