L.A. district to fight mayoral control bill in court

The Los Angeles school board decided Tuesday to file suit to block a bill passed last week that gives Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa substantial control over local schools. A spokeswoman for the mayor decried the move and said parents and children deserve a school board committed to reform.
