Study: Federal support needed to keep ethanol industry afloat

A new study says ethanol producers should attribute the current boom to supportive government policies, which will be needed in coming years to avoid future losses. Small ethanol plants could stop being profitable by 2011, while large plants' profits could be reduced by half in four years, according to the study.
