P/C insurers prepare to get long-term extension for NFIP

Congress is scheduled to return from its summer break on Sept. 13, prompting the P/C insurance industry to prepare its arguments to urge lawmakers to approve a long-term extension of the National Flood Insurance Program, which will expire Sept. 30. "Congress has entered a dangerous cycle of short-term patches for the flood program. We need a viable, long-term reauthorization for the flood insurance program to protect families and our communities," said PCI President David Sampson.
