More schools use online tools to communicate with parents

More schools in the Detroit area are using online tools to communicate with parents about their children's grades and school announcements. One district is using a software program to allow parents to sign up for e-mail updates and access information about their children and the school, which will replace a paper folder that was sent home with students. In another district, enhanced online communication will eliminate the need for mandatory in-person parent-teacher conferences in the spring.
