Survey: Owners drive with pets, take hands off wheel

In a survey, 56% of dog owners say they drive with their dogs in the car at least once a month, 23% said they take their hands off the wheel to hold the dog while braking, and 19% to keep the dog out of the front seat. Just 16% said they use a pet restraint, which is recommended "every time the pet is in the vehicle," said an official with the AAA New Jersey Automobile Club.
