Report: Wellness programs reduce employers' health care costs

For every dollar employers spend on wellness programs, they see $1 to $3 in savings on their health care costs, according to a report from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. "While the primary goal is reducing health costs, we're also seeing other advantages from wellness initiatives, such as higher employee morale, increased productivity and reduced disability," foundation CEO Michael Wilson said.
