August unemployment figures add to Federal Reserve's calculations about QE

The U.S. economy added 169,000 jobs in August, the Department of Labor reported. Also, the unemployment rate dropped to 7.3%, although most of the reduction is attributed to people who have stopped looking for jobs. The numbers come as the Federal Reserve Bank weighs how and when it will scale back on its quantitative easing program.
