Census: Landlines continue to fade from scene

By 2011, nearly 30% of U.S. households had abandoned landline service, this compares with 4% 15 years ago, according to Census Bureau data, which said the trend was especially pronounced among 15-to-28 year-olds. The recession played a major role in the trend, analysts said.
