At Sterling Helicopter, a service shop in Croydon, Pa., mechanics work on everything from small bubble-front helicopters to large rescue aircraft. The company employs 22 aviation technicians certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as an FAA inspector. "Maintaining safety is a matter of checks and balances. If we've worked on a helicopter, our inspector checks it out before it leaves," said Mike Anzelone, Sterling's executive consultant.
