Study: Improvements in solar-panel production could lower costs

Technological improvements in the production of solar panels could reduce costs and help U.S. manufacturers compete globally, according to a study done by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Efficient production processes and supply chains -- not lower labor costs alone -- now give China a cost advantage in the market, the study found.
