Technology helps distribution centers become faster, more accurate

Robot pickers and communication technology for human workers are helping warehouses and distribution centers become quicker and more precise in fulfillment, writes Tom Demeropolis. For example, Kiva Systems' "bots" can bring the appropriate shelving to pickers waiting to fill an order. "The sky's the limit. One solution has over 1,000 robots," said Amy Buntel, interactive media and brand manager for Kiva.
