Women-led firms lag in terms of venture capital

Women-led firms receive only a small percentage of venture-capital funding, and they typically launch with less startup capital than their male-owned counterparts. Still, some progress has been made. The percentage of women angel investors is on the rise, and the Thiel Fellowship, which provides funding for young entrepreneurs, has been encouraging more women to apply.
