Answer unclear for future of public hospitals

At Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, many patients' elective surgeries are put on hold for months, and some patients may wait hours to get prescriptions, receive chemotherapy or various other medical services. While Parkland remains a highly ranked teaching facility, has made U.S. News & World Report's best hospitals list annually and boasts a quality staff, it also has lost millions in state and federal funding and the money crunch will soon begin affecting patient care, CEO Dr. Ron Anderson says.
