North Carolina makes its assessment tests available online

North Carolina has begun posting the text of state end-of-year exams online, allowing the public to see what questions were asked. The tests measure proficiency in core subjects such as reading, math and science for students from third grade on. State education officials said the change will answer critics who argued that the veil of secrecy surrounding the tests made it impossible to determine their value.
