Amalgamated wins CarMax creative

Indie shop Amalgamated, New York, has been selected by CarMax for its creative account, pending the signing of a final contract. The other finalist for the business, for which spending was close to $50 million in 2009, was Publicis Groupe's The Kaplan Thaler Group, New York. Independent BooneOakley, Charlotte, N.C., previously handled projects for the used car chain.
