Amazon hires gaming chief away from Microsoft

The Microsoft executive who led development of the company's successful Xbox and Xbox Live gaming system has left the company after eight years to take a position at Amazon. The move by Andre Vrignaud, the director of games platform strategy, sparked speculation that Amazon plans to develop games for the Kindle and perhaps create a subscription gaming service, The Register reports.
