Candidates in S.D. gubernatorial race spar over ethanol

South Dakota Democratic gubernatorial candidate Scott Heidepriem criticized Gov. Mike Rounds, a Republican, for failing to promote the consumption of more ethanol in state-owned vehicles and install more blender pumps at state facilities. Heidepriem's opponent, Republican Dennis Daugaard, said blender pumps should be installed in public stations and not just for state vehicles. Daugaard also defends Rounds' record on ethanol, saying the state has a policy mandating the purchase of flex-fuel vehicles.
