Caterpillar and Vulcan could benefit from Obama's infrastructure plan

Caterpillar and Vulcan Materials could benefit from a proposal to boost spending on infrastructure by $50 billion, said Jefferies Group analyst Mike Betts. Without the proposal, highway spending might decline as much as 5% next year, causing firms such as Vulcan to miss their growth target. The initiative also would increase jobs, said Caterpillar spokesman Jim Dugan.
