DOJ eyes Google's bid for airline-ticket company

Federal regulators are considering whether Google's attempt to buy airline-ticket search company ITA Software would give it too much control over the online travel industry. The proposed $700 million deal would give Google sway over the travel-search software used by Kayak.com, Hotwire.com and rival search engine Bing. "There are legitimate concerns ... about what that deal could mean to competition," said Kayak Chief Marketing Officer Robert Birge.
