EBay aims to displace Google for mobile product search

EBay has been rapidly developing features for its mobile shopping applications under the leadership of Steve Yankovich, whose ambitions include replacing Google as the first place consumers head when they start comparison shopping. Some industry analysts say the possibility is there. "Google is a master of search. I don't know if many consumers think that Google is the master of e-commerce. Amazon and eBay are much better positioned for that than Google," said ABI Research analyst Mark Beccue.
