Fire near Hollywood Casino in West Virginia claims 27 horses

A fire destroyed barns and killed an estimated 27 horses near the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in Charles Town, W.Va. "With the lumber and hay, it was a tremendous fire load that burned quickly," Independent Fire Co. Chief Ed Smith said. Twenty-six thoroughbreds stabled at the barns survived the fire.
