The online "check-in" moves to media

Location-based applications such as Foursquare invite users to "check in" at favorite locations -- bars, cafes and restaurants. A new generation of location-based apps such as GetGlue, Miso, Philo and Starling are making deals with content producers to create rewards programs and other incentives for users who check in with their favorite TV shows.
