Stem cell ban supporters ask judge to enforce funding suspension

Supporters of a court order that stops government support for research involving embryonic stem cells called on presiding U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth to keep the stem cell funding ban in effect while the case is in appeal. The petition comes after the Department of Justice asked the U.S. Court of Appeals to put the decision on hold while it's under review on grounds that it will adversely affect researchers, taxpayers and scientific progress.
