Americans are embracing location tools, survey finds

Applications that track location data are used by 28% of U.S. adults, a Pew survey found. Yet just 4% use social media apps such as Foursquare to "check in" at locations, while 7% include their locations in Facebook or LinkedIn updates, the survey found. Younger people tend to be more willing to share location data, the survey found.
