Canada opposes global financial-transaction tax, official says

While some European officials are striving to garner support for a global tax on financial transactions, a Canadian official said the country is not in favour of the proposal. "Canada is not supportive of a financial-transaction tax," the official said. The idea is expected to be discussed at an upcoming meeting of Group of 20 leaders.
