McDonald's to spend $1 billion to remodel Canadian stores

McDonald's will invest $1 billion on makeovers for its 1,400 stores in Canada by the end of next year, with more contemporary looks similar to remodeled U.S. stores. New counter and kitchen layouts aim to speed service, as do the double drive-thru windows some stores will get.
