USTelecom urges FCC to change stance on broadband deployment

The Federal Communications Commission should reverse its earlier stand and report that broadband was being deployed in a reasonable and timely manner when the agency issues its upcoming annual 706 report, USTelecom CEO Walter McCormick said Tuesday. He said that telecoms were puzzled over the FCC's finding from June 2010 in a report issued in May because companies increased their broadband investment from $63 billion in 2009 to $66 billion in 2010 during a weak economy.
