ACC: Commentary is correct in noting IRIS shortcomings

The Environmental Protection Agency's Integrated Risk Information System is slow, too prone to overstate risks and in need of better science, argue George Gray and Joshua Cohen in a Nature commentary. "[T]he 'inflated risks' that Gray and Cohen speak to have created misperceptions and confusion about true risks, which can lead to unwarranted and costly decisions about how to manage those risks," said the American Chemistry Council.
