Mobile e-mail openings are on track to reach tipping point, report says

The rate of marketing e-mail openings is on track to top 50% in the next six to 12 months, according to a report from Knotice, which makes the case that marketers should be including e-mail as part of their campaigns. Knotice bases its projection on a surge in openings to 36% in the first half of this year from 27% in the latter half of 2011. "Mobile e-mail open activity is reaching the tipping point -- the point at which more e-mail opens will occur on mobile devices than on desktop/laptop devices," said Bryce Marshall, director of strategic services at Knotice.
