Former President Bill Clinton's heart surgery this week highlights the issue of the estimated 4 million Americans living with undiagnosed heart disease and who have no symptoms. Heart attacks are difficult to predict because artery blockages that cause the attacks or stroke can suddenly go from small to large blockages within minutes. Experts say a good way to determine risk is to consider questions about diet and cholesterol, such as the ones on a checklist offered by the American Heart Association on its Web site.
