Researchers warn of fatal drug reaction involving erythromycin

Researchers say use of the antibiotic erythromycin in combination with other drugs can dramatically increase the risk of fatal heart problems. An analysis of 1,476 sudden-death cases found a fivefold increase in the danger of heart attack among people taking erythromycin and other drugs. The study also found that even if used alone, the attack risk is doubled.
