Brazil's flex-fuel cars keep it No. 1 ethanol consumer, maker

Residents of the U.S. and Europe are switching to greater use of biofuels as the price of gasoline skyrockets, but a similar demand in Brazil is based on consumers who already had switched to cars with flex-fuel engines. The country already was the world's biggest producer and consumer of ethanol, which costs only half the price of gasoline at Brazil's fuel pumps.
