California to begin crackdown on tax evaders

California tax collectors will begin visiting 8,000 small businesses in targeted ZIP codes next week in a campaign to crack down on tax evaders. The Board of Equalization's focus will be to determine whether the retailers and small businesses have valid seller's permits, business licenses and records of collected sales and use taxes.
