Chemical merger-and-acquisition activity may soon rebound

Mergers and acquisitions in the chemical industry have declined this year, but analysts say the trend may be bottoming out. Many banks have granted waivers and extensions on debt rather than push companies into bankruptcy, where assets would be sold. However, a couple of recent moves indicate companies are at least talking about M&As again.
