Companies appear ready to resume spending

Economic indicators suggest companies might be ready to make capital outlays again, after holding off on spending as the recession peaked. Also aiding the recovery is a realization by firms that some purchases, including compliance upgrades, cannot be indefinitely delayed. "Companies can only defer [capital expenditure] for so long," said ELFA President Ken Bentsen. "At some point, they have to replace their hardware and other equipment."
