Gensler kicks CFTC into high gear regarding regulation

Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is taking a hard-line stance and seeking stricter regulation of futures and derivatives trading. Previously, the CFTC had taken a hands-off position on most issues. But Gensler is seeking oversight of over-the-counter derivatives and trying to limit the size of positions traders can take in energy futures to reduce the volatility of the price of oil.
