NBCT: Study shows bonuses for increased test scores won't work

A recent study shows that teaching improves when educators learn from their peers -- a fact that argues against teacher incentive-pay programs based on test scores, a National Board Certified Teacher writes in a Teacher Magazine blog post. The study says such programs encourage competition and not teamwork, and Anthony Cody writes that the study matches his experience teaching at a California middle school.
