Norwegian energy giant tests offshore wind turbine

Norwegian energy company StatoilHydro has built the first full-scale floating wind turbine in the world. The company will test the turbine over a two-year period to determine whether offshore wind farms are commercially viable. Meanwhile, there is hope that the turbine could eventually generate 6 megawatts of power, and others constructed at less cost.
