BP holds contractors accountable for Gulf rig blast

BP moved some blame to Transocean and Halliburton, its contractors, for the Deepwater Horizon explosion. Eight key failures led to the blast, BP said in its report, and most of them were part of Halliburton's and Transocean's responsibilities. But BP also acknowledged that one of its representatives had misread a key safety test that should have indicated the chances of a blowout.
