City in New York state passes cat-control law

An ordinance approved Tuesday in Kingston, N.Y., allows for the capture of cats that cannot be identified by a microchip, collar, tag or other methods in a bid to cut the population of feral cats in the area. "This law was put in place because we have cat colonies that are in the neighborhood that don't belong to anybody or (because) somebody is just feeding these wild cats," a city alderman said.
