Drug industry supports Obama's proposal to expand R&D tax credit

The drug, biotechnology and medical-equipment industries have lauded President Barack Obama's proposal to expand a tax credit for research and development by about 20% and make it permanent. "For America to keep its global leadership in medical innovation, it is critical that public policies and programs support continued research and development ... of new medicines," according to the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.
