Japanese officials say they will improve spending on education

Japan has again ranked low among developed countries in education spending, according to a study from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development. The country spent 3.3% of its gross domestic product on education. The Democratic Party of Japan, which came into power last year, has promised to increase spending on education to 5% of GDP.
