Teenager enjoys freedom to soar with gliders

Casey Henderson, 16, took a test for certification on a sailplane at Merkel Airport in Sylacauga, Ala. Henderson is part of the Sylacauga Soaring Society for glider pilots and enjoys the experience of soaring without a motor. "It is a lot different with powered airplanes, because they are 'point A' to 'point B,' just hauling," said Henderson. "In these, you are just out there for the heck of it."
