Canadian town builds propane air system for emergency backup fuel

The town of Inuvik, Canada, will soon have a backup propane air system to provide fuel for homes that use natural gas in case of a gas shortage. The technology, which can fuel the town for five days, simulates natural gas by combining air and liquid propane to fuel natural gas-powered appliances. Inuvik Gas recently started building the propane air system and it is expected to be complete by October.
