Delta reduces costs with staff cuts due to high cost of fuel

Delta Air Lines said it is laying off roughly 200 administrative employees with severance benefits, including health insurance and travel privileges. "We're not simply reducing headcount; we're reducing costs as a whole as part of the pressures of high fuel prices," said Delta spokeswoman Keyra Lynn Johnson. "Reducing headcount involuntarily at Delta is truly something that we look to as a last resort."
